


The story of the first ronin who dared to stand up against a corrupt regime and lead a nationwide uprising in 1461 Japan... Disease and famine ravage the country, while over 80,000 corpses turn the outskirts of Kyoto into a grim spectacle. Left masterless, the samurai Hasuda Hayoe wanders the land, living as an outlaw. After rescuing the young Saizo, the ronin sees in him the makings of a fearsome warrior and decides to train him.
